Collection: Goya Lopez

Born in Salvador, Bahia and graduated in Fine Arts from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Through a scholarship, he had the opportunity to study design in Florence, Italy. Back in Brazil, he developed projects for some companies in São Paulo. In 1986 he created the brand Didara Design Goya Lopes, with an artistic concept that used prints to tell the story of Afro-Brazilian ancestry. In 1993 he won the Museu da Casa Brasileira award. In 2008 he presented the exhibition “African Ancestry in Brazil” in Chicago, whose drawings and texts make up the book “Imagens da Diáspora” co-authored with the writer Gustavo Falcón, published by Solisluna Editora in 2010, the year he launched the brand Goya Lopes Design Brasileiro .
