Born in Salvador da Bahia in 1937. He graduated in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 1973, with postgraduate degrees in Nuclear Engineering and Metrology. He worked at Inmetro, being responsible for coordinating numerous projects, and representing the Institute at several Congresses and international events. Author of the book Inmetro - portrait of Brazil, he has also published several scientific articles in national and international publications. He held the position of Physics professor at the University of Santa Úrsula in Rio de Janeiro. Master Mason, is a member
