Graduated in Piano Instrument from the Federal University of Bahia (1971), graduated in Piano from the Catholic University of Salvador (1962), graduated in Music Degree from the Federal University of Bahia (1971), is currently a retired professor from the Federal University of Bahia and president of the Center for Production, Documentation and Music Studies - SONARE (2016-2020). She was a 1A researcher for several years at CNPq, president of ABEM (4 years), secretary of ANPPOM and member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Musical Education and president of the ISME Research Committee. He has experience in the area of ​​Arts, with an emphasis on Music, working mainly on the following topics: knowledge in music, creativity, music in the educational system and bridges. She is the author of the book "The PONTES approach to Musical Education: Learning to Articulate" (SP: Paco Editorial, 2015). From July 2013 to July 2014 she was a visiting professor at the Elliot-Pearson Child Development Center at Tufts University, Boston, USA. In 2014, he received the title Honorary Life Member from the International Society for Music Education. He is currently President of the Center for Production, Documentation and Music Studies - SONARE until 2020.
