On October 11, Francisco Lima Cruz Teixeira released ' Corpo Fechado ' , at the Confraria do França, in Salvador. Published by Solisluna, the book is the second written by the retired professor from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and his first novel. The debut was in 2021, with 'Chapada, lavras, diamonds - Historical route of a country region' (Solisluna).
In ' Corpo Fechado ', Chapada Diamantina remains the setting for the saga of Colonel Horácio de Matos (1882-1931), a real character. Instead of a biography, Francisco Teixeira chose to write a work of fiction. “I thought that writing a biography wouldn’t be as stimulating as working on historical fiction.” Among the political leader's powers, it is believed that his body was immune to diseases, bullets and betrayal. Horácio de Matos was involved in several armed struggles, including the persecution of Coluna Prestes.
