2023: A SOLISLUNIC year!
End of the year. Time to take stock of what we have experienced in the last 12 months. And I begin the text by stating that the word that summarizes our 2023 is: GRATITUDE! Written like this, in big letters, capital letters, capital letters. Like someone screaming. A cry of happiness, of course! After all, this is the year Solisluna turns 30.
It was a year of celebration, designed precisely to be memorable for us, our partners and readers. We promote several actions, but one of them particularly caught our attention... Read the full editorial

A chat with Tanila Amorim
Obstetric nurse and urban midwife, Tanila Amorim is the mother of Gabriel, 14, and Kadu, 8. The first saw his brother born, at home. It was her spontaneous report that sparked the author's idea for the book Where Did My Brother Come From? , his debut in literature. For the family, issues related to childbirth have never been a taboo.
“I noticed my children’s interest when I arrived from the birth and they asked how it went. Above all, when I noticed that they understood and naturalized topics related to the process of pregnancy, giving birth and breastfeeding” , she explains, who coordinates the Coletivo SobreParto, a multi-professional team providing assistance to planned home births, in Salvador.
With her work, in addition to preparing future mothers to have a natural birth at home, Tanila also raises the importance of children's participation throughout the process of preparing for the birth of their little brother or sister: “ Saying what needs to be said clearly and honestly, but always with the necessary respect, including the right to real information that every child deserves. If we are all born, knowing about being born should be a matter of interest to everyone.”
“Thinking about childbirth as a natural and familiar event brings us closer to the paradox of restricting this subject to adults”

Encounter of the Sun with the Moon exhibition is extended until February 7
“I am very happy to be able to occupy a space that is accessible to the public. Visibility for an author's work is also very important, but my greatest happiness is being able to imagine that so many other people can get to know this work.” The excited statement comes from Bruno de Almeida, 28 years old, one of the young artists taking part in the Encontro do Sol com a Lua Exhibition , on display at the Museu Náutico da Bahia, in Salvador.
The Muzambinho miner from Minas Gerais was one of those selected for the exhibition, which, among other actions carried out in 2023, celebrates Solisluna Editora's 30th anniversary. The work of Bruno and 29 other illustrators can be visited until February. Those far away can access the online version, at expo.solisluna.com.br .
The Encontro do Sol com a Lua exhibition is the result of the illustration competition held by Solisluna, also in the wake of the commemorative events. 419 Brazilian and foreign visual artists participated and, in the end, 30 works were chosen for exhibition. The designs were inspired by the theme 'Meeting the sun with the moon', an allusion to the brand and the publisher's concept.
The illustrations, produced using a variety of processes, were selected by a specialized jury, made up of visual artists Goya Lopes, Ciça Fittipaldi and Rico Lins.
